How Pawprint fees work
Last updated: May 12, 2026
Pawprint charges providers a service fee on each completed booking, and Stripe charges a payment processing fee on the transaction. This page explains both fees, what they cover, and how your payout is calculated.
The fees
Two fees apply to each booking:
- Pawprint service fee: 15% of the booking total
- Stripe payment processing fee: 2.9% + $0.30 per transaction (standard US card rate set by Stripe)
Both fees are deducted from the booking total before your payout is sent to your connected bank account.
For example, on a $100 booking:
- Booking total: $100.00
- Pawprint service fee (15%): $15.00
- Stripe processing fee (2.9% + $0.30): $3.20
- Your payout: $81.80
The Pawprint service fee is calculated and locked in at the time the booking is created. If we update our fee structure in the future, your existing bookings will keep the fee rate that was in effect when they were booked. Stripe processing fees are set by Stripe and may change based on their published rates.
What the Pawprint fee covers
The 15% service fee supports the platform that makes your business possible:
- Customer acquisition and marketing in your area
- Booking management, messaging, and scheduling tools
- Identity verification and trust & safety systems
- Customer support for you and your clients
- Ongoing app development and improvements
What the Stripe fee covers
Stripe is the payment processor that handles all transactions on Pawprint. Their fee covers the cost of accepting credit and debit cards, fraud protection, and transferring funds to your bank account. Stripe's standard rates are published at stripe.com/pricing.
Payouts
Payouts are processed through Stripe Connect after a booking is marked complete. Stripe handles the transfer to your bank account on their standard payout schedule, which is typically 2 business days for established accounts.
You can view payout status and manage your bank account in Settings → Payments → Manage Payouts.
Tips
Tips left by customers are passed through to you. Pawprint does not take a service fee on tips, though standard Stripe processing fees still apply to the tip portion since it's part of the transaction.
Tax documents
Pawprint and Stripe will provide tax documents (1099-K) for providers who meet the IRS reporting thresholds. These are issued through Stripe at the end of each tax year.
